Reconciliation Center
The Pine Ridge Reconciliation Center has been serving in Pine Ridge South Dakota for over 40 years.
Started as a mission outreach, the work of the Lutheran Lakota Ministry began in 1985. With a continuous presence since 1989. The work of the ministry has changed over the years.
The Center was a dream of Pastor Larry Peterson and built in 2000.
At the center, we offer a range of services designed to provide help and hope to our community. Our Kid's program fosters growth and learning for young minds, while the Job Corp supports individuals in finding meaningful employment. The Energy Matching program assists families in managing their energy costs, and Homeless Shelter provides a safe haven for those in need. Additionally, we host groups from around the world, promoting connection and collaboration.
The Lutheran Lakota Ministry is a 501c3 supported by the ELCA, The South Dakota Synod of the ELCA, and the South Dakota Episcopal Diocese.
The Staff!
Pastor Dan has been the dedicated director of the center since July 2020, stepping into his role during the challenging times of the Covid pandemic. His leadership has been instrumental in guiding the center through these unprecedented circumstances, ensuring that the community remains supported and connected. With a compassionate approach, Pastor Dan tries to inspire and uplift those around him.
Job Corp
The Job Corp Staff is dedicated to managing the daily operations of the shelter, ensuring a supportive environment for all who seek our services. They work closely with individuals, providing guidance and assistance, while facilitating various ministry activities that take place at the center. Their commitment and compassion play a vital role in creating a welcoming atmosphere for everyone
Kim Standing Soldier
Kim is a local Lakota woman. A mom and Aunt. She is the corrdinator of the immersions. She will work with groups to provide a quality experiance for you.
